hireEZ at HRTech 2021: Can you have fun finding talent?

A few weeks ago, hireEZ was so pumped to attend our first-ever SHRM event. 

Our team members got to physically connect with so many community members after a year and a half (and we never want that long to pass ever again 🥲). 

While we could feel the excitement from everyone who attended in-person, we could also sense that many talent professionals felt overwhelmed by today’s talent market. 

In fact, President of HRU Technical Resources Tim Sackett summed it up perfectly when he echoed that “recruiting talent is extremely difficult right now.” 

As a recruiter’s best friend, we never want you to feel overwhelmed by your job. That’s why we were on a set mission for last week’s HRTech 2021 to ease that overwhelming feeling in three ways: 

1. Sharing the technological solutions talent professionals need to ease the process of finding and hiring talent

2. Providing training and mental health resources through our Evry1 community

3. And, most notably, providing a lot of alcohol and a few giveaways 👀

Here’s how we set out to make finding talent a lot more fun.

Bloody Mary Bar 

There’s nothing that signals fun like a mixture of vegetables and Vodka in the morning. As we talked with talent professionals about their biggest pain points, many were able to sip on a delicious bloody mary. 

While we’re certain that our recruitment solutions for diversity sourcing, engagement, integrations, and analytics helped address these pain points, we can imagine vodka definitely helped a little bit.  

Beats Headphones and Tito’s Giveaway

While the bloody marys were made to stay, we wanted the fun to continue when attendees went home with a few giveaways.  

One for a Tito’s Vodka bottle service package. The other for a pair of Apple Beats PowerBeats Pro. 

While only two people were winners of the respective giveaways, the recent demand for talent acquisition has made a lot of people winners (especially in terms of compensation). 

From Overwhelmed to Overjoyed

On the first night of HR Tech 2021, hireEZ brought together the talent community for a very special dinner. 

Our Head of Community and Marketing, Shannon Pritchett kicked off the night saying “This means a lot to us because a lot of us haven’t seen each other in many years… we hope everyone tonight can enjoy themselves and feel normal for a second.”

While we’re not sure what “normal” will look like for the foreseeable future, we appreciate moments like last week where the community can come together to solve problems and have fun while doing it.
