Do you remember where you were exactly two years ago?
On 2/2/22, I spent the night celebrating with my employees and the recruitment community in Mountain View, California.
We had just introduced our:
- New name (from Hiretual to hireEZ)
- New round of funding (raised by our partners at Conductive Ventures)
- New “outbound recruiting” category (that fundamentally changed how TA teams made hires)
It was a night our company will never forget.
Unfortunately, in the years following that special day, we’ve heard some complaints from our customers and the recruitment community.
Not about hireEZ.
In fact, our users were thrilled with the evolution of our recruiting platform. They echoed what our friend Greg McKeown at WilsonHCG shared that “hireEZ’s end-to-end outbound recruiting platform has helped to simplify our tech stack and reduce the need for several other tools.”
Instead, the complaints were about an older piece of technology occupying many TA team tech stacks and dominating their budgets.

What Customers Say About hireEZ
Beyond our users, Aptitude Research observed the same complaints across talent acquisition.
Based on their findings, “Only 1 in 4 companies are very satisfied with their CRM, and only 15% of recruiters would recommend their CRM.”
That is troubling news for everyone in talent acquisition, especially for a tool meant to make recruiters’ lives easier.
Instead, these traditional CRMs:
- Create disjointed workflows
- Fail to automate time-consuming tasks
- Provide irrelevant insights that do not strengthen decision-making
And most significantly, none of them bring recruiters their most critical asset: candidates.
Honestly, it was very tough for me to hear that our users were struggling with their CRMs. Our customers have always been essential to us, and more than anything, we care about helping them.
In fact, some of our users’ biggest challenges, like rediscovering ATS talent, needing competitor and talent market data, and writing effective emails, led to some of our most significant innovations in the past two years across EZ Rediscovery, EZ Insights and autogenerated email functionality.
It hurt that hireEZ couldn’t empower our users with a solution to their CRM problems.
So we decided to change that.
